A few widely known notes for getting to General Luna and around the island. Fares, boat times, and tides change, so ask locally before you go.

Getting to General Luna

Most flights land at Sayak Airport, on Siargao. From the airport, the drive down to General Luna is about 45 minutes by van.

Ferries usually come into Dapa port. From Dapa to General Luna is about 30 minutes.

Getting around

Around town, a habal-habal (a motorcycle taxi) is the usual short ride. Tricycles cover a lot of the same trips.

Many visitors rent a scooter for the day.

Surf nearby

Cloud 9 is the well-known break just outside General Luna. Jacking Horse, close by, is a common spot for people still learning.

Quiksilver, also called Rock Island, is another break in the General Luna area. Pacifico is further north on the island.

Surf season is roughly August to November. Outside those months the waves are often smaller.

On the water

A usual island-hopping day from General Luna takes in Naked Island, Daku Island, and Guyam Island.

Sugba Lagoon, in the Del Carmen area, is a common day trip from town.

The Magpupungko rock pools are in Pilar. People walk them when the tide is lower.
